Marketing Blunders 101- Vicki Irvin
By now, I am HOPING that every business owner out there knows that the key to a successful business is actually MARKETING. I am still amazed at how many people don’t get that simple fact. If you do not have the ability to effectively attract new clients through your marketing efforts, then you are going to be in serious trouble.
Have you ever noticed how people seem to put so much emphasis on their company name when advertising? WHO CARES the name of your company, you should be trying to convey a message about your product or service. If you have a magnetic sign on your car in an attempt to advertise what do you think it should look like? This is what I see nine times out of ten:

When you only have a few moments to capture a prospects attention, you need to use that time wisely and that does NOT include highlighting your company name, especially when the company name does not describe your product or service!
So take stock of your advertising and see if you are guilty of this blunder. Take a good look at all of your marketing and be sure you are not getting carried away with your company name. We are always proud of our well thought out company name, but it doesn’t pay the bills!!!
