[E-VOLVE] Really? Hanging with THEM? Vicki Irvin

I know you have heard it all before. “You are a product of who you choose to hang around with.”  BUT, do you REALLY believe it?

I used to be of the belief that it didn’t matter who you hung out with, you were still your own person and would do your own thing.  BOY was I wrong!

Choosing to hang out with like-minded people who have goals, dreams and motivation can make all the difference in your world!

We all have them. Various groups and subsets of friends who we have connected with during different periods of our life.  Childhood friends, college friends, friends from work or church, etc.

And I bet they are all different!

Some people, no matter how hard they try to dig themselves out of negativity, can’t seem to shake it.  They wake up negative and on a daily mission to see who they can pull down with them.  Pretty sad, but oh so common!

Some people are born into constant drama and can’t get away from it.  In fact if there is no drama, they can’t seem to function, almost as if chaos is a MUST have in their lives.

And although you may really love the friends OR family who are full of drama and negativity, after a while it will bring you down.  It will suck the life out of you and leave you exhausted….IF you allow them to.

See, I believe that nobody has the right to impose their negativity on you. If they choose to stay in that space, then fine.  But to bring someone else down and expect them to indulge in the same destructive behavior is toally unfair.

But how about when you are in the presence of people who are truly happy for your successes in life, no matter how big or small?  How does it feel to get encouragement and genuine well wishes from people who truly care?

You can’t help but to stay motivated and feel like you have someone you can lean on, right? It propels you to do even more!

It is not your job to entertain miserable people.  It is your job to reach your goals by staying positive, supported and having people who want to see you do your thing!

If you find yourself struggling to find people who make you feel good, it is time to clean house. You deserve the BEST environment possible!

Cheers to Business, Beauty & Balance,

Vicki
