Vicki Irvin-Do You Love It?-Maryland Real Estate Investing

I am going to visit my old boss today, I haven’t been to my old office in quite some time! It will be good to see everyone, I just hope they don’t try to put me back to work, my HR skills may be a little rusty since I dove head first into real estate investing.

Do you love what you do at work? Are you working in a field or have a career that you always dreamed of? If so, consider yourself lucky. Many people go through life working jobs they do not enjoy and that can be taxing on anyone. I have always envied people who were able to make a living out of doing things they enjoy. That is an awesome position to be in. My husband has been lucky enough to be a martial artist and to be able to run a successful business teaching it to others as well as countless children in the community. He always says that being able to do something you love because you WANT to and not because you HAVE to is the best position ever.

Although I always enjoyed my career as a HR professional, 40 hours per week of it was a bit too much. Tack on the long commute in traffic to and from work and it was out of control. Then to have to deal with office politics and the general work drama on top of everything else, I was beat down. The joy of a profession I once loved quickly dwindled away. Plus my bank account wasn’t looking so hot after paying taxes. I too wanted to work on something that I loved. Fast forward to learning real estate investing and the REAL joy of it all… teaching it to others. I can finally say I have joined the ranks of folks who work on something they love doing. I am very thankful for that.
