Vicki Irvin-Are You Masterminding and Don’t Know It? Maryland Real Estate Investing

Happy Monday! I got up this morning to drop my son off to school. He just turned 2 years old last month and this is the first time he has been in a class room setting. Up until now, his grandfather kept him which is both a blessing and an issue. It’s a GREAT thing from the standpoint that I never had to worry about the well-being of my son, his grandfather literally lives to be with that boy! But from the angle of being spoiled, that is quite the battle. Grandparents have so much fun spoiling the kids, and all discipline just goes out of the window. What they fail to realize is that we as the parents are left to clean up that mess and so we look like the bad guys. I firmly believe I can’t get my son to sleep in his own bed because he got used to napping with grandad, and the list could go on and on, but I will spare you.

But back to the matter at hand. Many of you mothers and fathers can relate to how difficult the transition is when you are dropping your child off at school for the first time. The entire experience broke my heart back in September. Something about leaving your child with strangers just seems wrong! Especially when your child is crying for you and wondering how mommy and daddy could just abandon them. But as with anything, of course he got used to it and now he loves it. I smiled today because when I dropped him off he went and took his seat and smiled and waved good bye to me. I left with the biggest grin on my face. At that moment this morning, I was proud! Proud of how well he has adapted and proud of all the positive changes I see in his development since being surrounded with other kids all day.

That got me to thinking about the whole mastermind principle you so often hear me speak about. I always encourage you and others to surround yourself with positive people who are going places. People who are full of life and are encouraging with a bigger picture of success and prosperity in mind. Dropping my son off today, I reflected on how much he has learned in just a few months of being in school. His speech has improved so much and his social skills are awesome. He sings songs and has learned to share, not an easy feat for an only child, I might add. I realized that the mastermind principle applies to every level of life! My son is surrounded with great teachers who encourage him to learn. He plays with other great kids who show him how to share. And all because of him being in such a positive environment, his overall personality has developed and he has transformed into a child that wants to learn all that he can. And while grandad has been awesome and a very positive influence, nothing can beat my son being in school where he is masterminding every day with kids who have the same learning goals as him!

If you want to do the same and real estate investing is something you have always wanted to do, I urge you to attend one of our seminars (The next one is 12/7) and find out our whole mastermind principle and how this one principle has changed the lives of so many already! Can you think of areas in your life where you are involved in masterminding? Sometimes we can overlook them, but if you think hard enough, I’m sure you may already be doing some form of it. Please post your comments below!
