Maryland Real Estate Investing -The Day After Christmas-Vicki Irvin

I hope you had a pleasant and happy holiday, I sure did. This was the first Christmas my son understood what Christmas was about from a kid’s perspective, so he was anxious to wake up and tear into his presents!

If you were having anxiety over the holidays, I hope it is over. It seems that people get so stressed out worrying about buying gifts for people and worrying about spending too much money. Takes all of the fun out of the holiday and people forget what it is really about. So many of you really felt my last blog on being overwhelmed and many of you thanked me for the advice on how to deal with it. At the end of the day, we are all going through the same thing!

Did you have to go back to work today, or did you take the rest of the week off? I remember when I was working my 9-5 my spirits were so much higher during the holidays because it meant time off. And then after the New Year, I felt like I had nothing to look forward to BUT MORE WORK! Do you feel that way?

Okay, so now is the time to REALLY get serious about 2008. Time for those reflections I have been hounding you about. Time for you to think about 2007 and if you are happy with what you have accomplished or if you are upset because you didn’t give it all that you could. Time to be REAL about it too, not make excuses. I’m going through the struggle of setting new goals too. I have done a WHOLE lot this year, bought a lot of houses that I kept, wholesaled a lot of houses to other investors and taught a WHOLE lot of people how to invest in real estate the same way that I do who are now making some serious money. I wrote a book that will be published next year, I was featured in a movie, I was auditioned for my own TV show….. I could go on and on. My point is that some of these things were on my list of goals, and others were opportunities that just came to me. Some things I did well and others I wish I had done even better. But I am glad that I worked so hard and I definitely see the fruits of my labor. So yes, I need to re-evaluate some things and redirect myself. But as long as I know I am working hard every day and pushing myself, I am headed in the right direction.
